Ideal for pathways, driveways, landscaping, and much more, there are many public and private areas that require paving and various options are available for different settings. Different materials and patterns have their own advantages, so here is a quick guide to help highlight the various options available.

Uni Paving Block

The unusual shape of the Uni Paving Block allows for an attractive finish that is deceptively easy to achieve, as they simply slot next to each other. Common laying patterns include basketweave, stretcher bond, 45 herringbone and 90 herringbone. Herringbone is recommended for any trafficked areas due to the interlocking pattern, with 90 herringbone being useful for easy marking of parking bays.

Rectangular Paving

Perhaps the most common style, it is often used in areas of both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The simple rectangle shape makes it incredibly simple to lay in a variety of patterns. Traditional stretcher bond and basketweave patterns are often applied, however, 45 herringbone and 90 herringbone can often be seen more in areas of heavy traffic.

Quadro Paving Block

When it comes to projects such as architecture or residential homes, sometimes a more unique and elaborate option is preferred. Quadro paving blocks come in a variety of shapes including diamonds, octagons and squares, all available in different colours, allowing for endless designs to be created.

Paving Slabs

If a simple walkway or patio is required, paving slabs are often the most suitable solution. They offer practicality by providing a safe path across surfaces such as soil, gravel and grass. However, that doesn’t mean that the design has to be plain. With a wide range of sizes, colours and shapes to choose from, a unique effect can be created for any project.

Cobblestone

Some building projects demand a more visually pleasing solution than you’d usually expect and in these instances, cobblestone can be used in place of blocks or slabs. Cobblestone would suit both traditional and modern projects and is available in a variety of colours to choose from in an authentic, hand-crafted finish.

Artificial Paving

If the desired effect is one of authentic stone, yet the environmental and economic impact is too high, then artificial paving is the ideal alternative.  A long-life, low maintenance material that looks like natural stone, this option is easy to install that provides a natural finish at a fraction of the cost.

3D Paving Block

Despite its name, 3D paving blocks offer the same flat surface as other blocks and slabs but achieves the appearance of being lifted off the ground, thanks to the unique shape and design of each block. Various colour options allow for any number of illusions to be created, making it a great option for projects such as pathways, patios and terraces that want to stand out from the crowd.
